• Just how purposeless and empty they've grown

  It suddenly dawned on me.

  that life is so meaningless.

  Ecclesiastes 9:12

  Moreoever, no man knows when his hour will come:

  As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

  Ecclesiastes 11:9-10

  ⁹ Be happy, young man, while you are young,
         and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
         Follow the ways of your heart
         and whatever your eyes see,
         but know that for all these things
         God will bring you to judgment.

      ¹⁰ So then, banish anxiety from your heart
         and cast off the troubles of your body,
         for youth and vigor are meaningless.

  We come to this world with nothing, and will be leaving this world with nothing.

  To live this life for oneself, or God? It's not easy.
